2008 Parks, Gardens and Trees
The 2008 theme year follows 2007 when our forests and the natural heritage in the Walloon region were highlighted.
2008 will focus on the green spaces that for centuries have been shaped by man.
From medieval vegetable gardens to provincial estates, visitors will be able to explore what man has designed. City parks, castles, French or English gardens, collections with trees and plants from all over the world, forgotten fruits and vegetables: they are all the result of our gardeners’ endless creativity.
Every season, all year round, there will be interesting events: plant fairs, flower markets, open days at tree nurseries etc.
2008, a year between ‘nature and culture’ will reveal one of the most interesting sides of Wallonia to you.
