All day long, Belgium will be celebrated with a colourful programme! On this occasion, a Te Deum will be sung in the cathedral at 10 am and a big parade will take place on the Place des Palais around 3.30 pm. The public institutions will be exceptionally opened. Moreover, the Civil Emergency Services, the local and federal police and the Armed forces will offer demonstrations and initiations to the public. Other animations are planned for you as well: the "Olympic picnic", the European Village with the European Commission, street theatre, children's animations, exhibitions, concerts,… The festivities end with a great show and a musical fireworks from the gardens of the Palais des Académies, Place des Palais, at 11 pm.

Comment:

The festivities take place from the Park of Brussels to the Place Poelaert, passing by the Place Royale, the Place du Musée, the Mont des Arts, the rue de la Régence and the Grand Sablon.
Numerous concerts in the city centre.
Exceptional opening of certain museums and public institutions.
