    The Heritage Days are the perfect opportunity to discover different places usually closed to the public. Around Wallonia on 8 and 9 September 2012

    24th edition

    The event will allow you to discover or rediscover the Belgian cultural heritage. More than 350 activities are organised in 117 towns.

    Take part in dozens of animations in the five provinces, walks and rides with all means of transport and a number of exceptional discoveries.

    The theme for 2012 is "Pierre et des hommes".


    These activities, particularly aimed at children, will be detailed in a brochure provided free of charge on request on 0800 11 901 or at the Secrétariat des Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage days secretariat) on 085/27 88 80. It is also available on-line on the site below.

    The opening evening will take place at theprestigious Abbaye de Bonne-Espérance (Bonne-Espérance Abbey) in Estinnes on Friday 7 September 2012.

    A free public concert, starting at 9.30 pm, will be given by the group Scala & Kolacny Brothers. This concert will put the poetic writings of Pierre Rapsat to music.

    Information is available at the Maisons du Tourisme and Offices du Tourisme (tourist offices), Centres d'Information et d'Accueil du Service public de Wallonie (Wallonia public service information centres), Maisons du Tec (TEC transport information offices), Maisons des cyclistes (Cycle hire and cycle information centres), the FNAC stores in Brussels and Liège and various sites managed by the Institut du Patrimoine Wallon (Walloon heritage institute).


    (for example, the Archéoforum archaeology site in Liège and the Centre des métiers du Patrimoine (Centre for heritage professions) in Amay).
