Description:

19th century reconstruction of the building that was constructed during the reign of Charles V at the beginning of the 16th century.
Listed monument in flamboyant gothic style.
Visual and decorative arts from Brussels: paintings, altarpieces, tapestry, sculptures, porcelain, earthenware, silverware, tin.
Urban development: plans, scale models, evocation of communication problems, green areas, the port of Brussels, the principal monuments, the great urban creations.
History of the people of Brussels: local political institutions, the role of Brussels as capital city, economical, social, religious, cultural and folkloristic history (e.g. wardrobe of Manneken-Pis).
