THE GALERIES ROYALES SAINT-HUBERT "GRANDEUR AND LUXURY IN THE CITY CENTRE"

A microcosm of elegance and grandeur, the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert are an invitation to stroll gently around one of the most prestigious covered passageways in Europe. Stylists, leather goods shops, designers and luxury jewellers have set up shop in this monumental space coveted by names that have always evoked luxury and the crafting of fine, natural materials. The Italian Renaissance is very visible beneath its glass roof. Serving as a real "town within a town", these arcades were the only ones of their kind in the 19th century. They house shops, restaurants, flats and even a theatre and cinema.

BELGIAN CENTRE FOR COMIC STRIP ART - CBBD (BRUXELLES)This is the Kingdom of the Smurfs, Tintin, Lucky Luke, Spirou, Gaston Lagaffe, Spike and Suzy and plenty of other paper heroes! One of the major Brussels tourist attractions and a superb example of Art Nouveau architecture, the Belgian Comic Strip Center brings together everything related to the comic strip, from its prestigious beginnings to its most recent developments, over an area of more than 4,000 m²: permanent and temporary exhibitions, library, documentation centre, bookshop, bar... |
BORTIER GALLERY (BRUXELLES)Although built by the same architect as the Saint Hubert Galleries between 1847 and 1848, this is a more modest arcade. Its shops are a magnet for students and collectors. Notice the baroque-style facade, converted in 1761, and preserved to retain the gallery's harmony with its surroundings. |
BRUXELLES EN SCENE (BRUSSELS ON STAGE) (BRUXELLES)Just like Alice in Wonderland, the visitor is plunged into an imaginary world where everything has been designed to evoke emotions, to stimulate one's desire to see, hear and know. BRUSSELS ON STAGE is an exhibit-performance that invites the visitor to discover and rediscover a capital city many times over. Under the Galerie de la Reine in a surprising subterranean passage, the visitor will develop a taste for Brussels' myths before experiencing them in the real city. |
CATHEDRAL OF SAINTS MICHAEL & GUDULE (BRUXELLES)Built on the top of a hill, the cathedral reflects the three stages of the gothic style in its construction. It is a remarkable building because of the remnants of the old Roman collegiate church, its 16th century stained-glass windows, the statues of the apostles in the nave, the baroque style "chair of truth", its treasure and its large organ. |
