CANTILLON BREWERY - BRUSSELS GUEUZE MUSEUM (ANDERLECHT) © OPT / Ricardo de la Riva The Cantillon Brewery has just celebrated its one-hundredth anniversary and remains the only active brewery in Brussels which is open to the public. In order to achieve its aim of preserving the name and reputation of the lambic as well as some other beers from the same family, the brewery decided, in 1978, to open its facilities to the public and to become the Brussels Gueuze Museum. The brewery produces the Cantillon beers (gueuze, kriek, lambic, faro, framboise, Iris). As well as guided tours, brewing sessions in public take place twice a year. ROYAL MUSEUMS OF FINE ARTS : MUSEUM OF MODERN ART (BRUXELLES) © Musées Royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique / Pelegrie This department conserves works from the late 18th century to the Contemporary period: paintings, sculptures and drawings. It is the logical continuation of an artistic evolution beginning in the Museum of Ancient Art. The 19th century collections are exhibited in the neo-classical building overlooking the Place Royale. Paintings and sculptures are placed along a thematic and chronological trail spreading on 6 floors or levels. The 20th century works are aggregated in the rooms inaugurated in 1984.
