SINT-CALIXTE'S CHAPEL (MONS) © F. Daniel - Jemappes The St-Calixte's Chapel (11th century) has been restored and houses the new Museum of the Count's Castle (archeological discoveries, medieval iconography...), audiovisual show. This chapel which dates from the 11th century and which is the oldest religious monument in Mons, was decorated by Roman frescos discovered in the 19th century and restored in the 20th century. The gothic vault dates from the 14th century and the crypt, which used to be a basement of the castle, is made from crude materials.
