The Pays de Charleroi, Industrial Heritage. Once black, the Pays de Charleroi is changing and getting some colours.

Charleroi is an amazing city due to the richness of its cultural heritage: it has an art deco city hall, museums, parks, and Art Nouveau façades...

The birthplace of Belgian comic books with the Marcinelle school (also known as the Charleroi School) and the Dupuis printing house, Charleroi has fun and does not take itself too seriously.

When you are in Charleroi, you must visit the Museum of Photography in Mont-sur-Marchienne to admire a whole host of original pictures.

In the shadow of the Marcinelles headframes, a memorial honours the memory of the mining disaster of 8 August 1956 at the Bois du Cazier.
