The listed chateau was built in the 17th century on the site of an earlier building. An L shaped design punctuated by three square towers, this architectural creation is the result of the unification of successive building during different eras. At the end of the eighteenth century French style gardens were laid out, occupying one and a half hectares of the six hectare estate. Only the arbour has since disappeared. Almost unaltered since their creation, these gardens are laid out to six lawns, set off at each corner by conical cut yew trees. At the centre of four rectangles, sundials mark the time. Urns and stone columns on plinths line the paths. Avenues extend the routes through the gardens into the wooded area.
