Tour of the castle with an iPad mini

Go on a guided tour of the castle with an intuitive, geolocated and multimedia iPad mini.

Discover the architecture, ornaments, artworks and furniture of the castle, thanks to the commentary on the iPad mini in French, Dutch, German and English.

At every stage of your visit, you can chose your virtual tour guide: either the Chimay family or a little animated character called "Enguérrand de Chimay".

The iPad mini tour is completed by a 3D special effects show, lasting around 15 minutes, in the Castle's theatre.

The Chimay Castle, an unmissable visit

This splendid castle is situated a few kilometres from the Scourmont Abbey, which produces the Chimay Trappist beer, one of Belgium's most famous beers.

It has been inhabited by the ancestors of the Chimay Princes for 1000 unbroken years.

Your visit will unveil 5 of the castle's major rooms: the great hall, the guards' room, the portrait room, the chapel situated in the medieval dungeons as well as the theatre.

The theatre, built in 1863, is decorated in a style that evokes that of the theatre Louis XV built at Fontainebleau Castle.

As a matter of fact, the castle has been on the "liste du Patrimoine exceptionnel de Wallonie" (list of protected Walloon heritage buildings) since 1958.

For individuals.
From 21/03 to 15/11: every day at 2:30pm and 3:45pm.
Closed on Mondays, except on public holidays.

Groups.
Mornings at 10am and 11am.
Bookings necessary and for minimum 20 people.
