Situated on the site of the former Grand Hornu coal mining operation near Mons in the region known as the Borinage, the Museum of Contemporary Art[s] (MAC[s]) is an important cultural milestone of Belgium’s French Community. The architecture of the museum allows people to go to several places on the site, which became a pole of tourism, culture and science since the nineties. The MAC's organizes temporary long-lasting exhibitions, with collections devoted to the big names of contemporary art and lended pieces.
