In 2001 the arboretum of the Citadel was given a face-lift. Several trees that had become dangerous have been felled, and rare species were planted. So a reborn arboretum was opened in 2003. The city council wished to reinforce its educational role and place 125 adapted and specific labels on representative specimens.
