The architectural work was carried out for Leopold II by the architect Charles Girault in the Louis XVI style, and now houses the Royal Museum of Central Africa surrounded by magnificent French gardens. Further on, there is the chapel of Saint-Hubert (Renaissance) and the stables (1749-1750), both of which are remnants of the 18th century castle of Charles de Lorraine.
