Montauban, a prestigious archaeological site in the Gaume Region, has been listed as Major Walloon Heritage, and shows three successive periods of occupation. This shelter is surrounded by ramparts from the Iron Age, and dissected through the middle by a rampart dating from the Carolingian time. At the southern point of the rocky outcrop, it shows the ruins of a donjon from the High Middle Ages, attributed to the Four Aymon Sons according to legend. The Lapidary Museum (from the Belgian architect Constatin Brodsky), an outbuilding of the Gaume region museum, houses original bas-reliefs discovered in 1958, among which the famous harvester of the Treveri, currently on display at the Gaume museum of Virton.
