In Charleroi, children have as much fun as their parents! Discover the city together through its comic book characters, museums and extraordinary visits.

In the city centre

Did you know that Charleroi is the Walloon comic book capital? It was here that Dupuis publishers launched the "Journal Spirou" which featured heroes like Gaston Lagaffe, Lucky Luke, The Smurfs, Marsupilami or Boule and Bill.

What makes Charleroi fun is the fact that you will come across these comic book characters all over the city: Marsupilami welcomes visitors who arrive in Charleroi on the motorway.

Fantasio is taking a photogrpah of Spirou and his faithful squirrel companion, Spip on the roundabout on avenue Michel. Boule and Bill greet passers-by close to the Stade du Pays de Charleroi.

The discover route plunges young and old into the fascinating world of photography. Alongside this route, the museum offers a game that changes with each new exhibition.

Why not try "Kézako Photography" during the school holidays. A visit and workshop, reserved for children and their parents.

At the ULB Scientific Culture Centre

Discover science in all its forms, in a fun and interactive way. Visit the environment route in a 20 hectares park.

From 7 March to 5 June 2016, the "Biomimétisme" exhibition will teach you that by observing nature, scientists can find solutions that fulfil humans' needs.

The Fine Arts Museum

Children love to wander through the art, from the 19th century to the present day, and the museum's temporary exhibitions, using their own personal booklets to read, colour, draw and visit the museum in a fun way.

The Bois de Cazier

Become an apprentice miner during your visit to the Bois de Cazier, a listed UNESCO heritage site, and discover the mine and its stories with " The Little Miner's handbook".

Climb up to the observatory at the top of the slagheap and take in an incomparable panoramic view of the whole region.
