The Tourist Agency for the East of Belgium's brochure "Kids on Tour" is full of walks and activities for families with children.
Beavers in the valleys, animal footprints in the forest, a tree trunk to climb... nature becomes their playground. This 28-page brochure suggests 11 walks and cycling trails dedicated to children.
Some, like "Le Pays des Géants" (Land of Giants) and "Atteindre un Sommet" (Reaching a Summit), inspire thoughts of gripping adventures and unforgettable excursions in the East Cantons.
The added extra for your children
Water mills and snow-shoe walks
Walks with the children are hard to improvise! That's why this new brochure gives you all the best ideas so that your walks are a success. Treating nature with respect is also one of the things your children will learn. All of these things help you best set off on your discovery of the East Cantons.
Games and fun are the keywords of these 11 routes, but learning plays an important part in the adventure too, which is why your children are given lots of important information about the region's flora and fauna.
The whole of the East Cantons are covered by these walks, many of which are accessible with prams. One of the unmissable walks available in winter is a snow-shoe walk that follows in the footsteps of trappers in Manderfeld.
Last but not least are 3 bicycle routes: in the High Fens, around the Eupen Dam, and along the Vennbahn. The latter takes two days to complete and includes a stay in a campsite as well as access to the "Fenn-tastic" Butgenbach lake.
