A visit to Strépy-Thieu funicular lift, the biggest boat lift in the world, is packed full of surprises!

There's a huge engine room, a wonderful panoramic view of the site as a whole and its surrounding region, a film about the building and operation of the lift enlivened by animated models and interactive games, an exhibition of fossils found during the excavations...

Also, there's the interactive tour "Pays des Génies", where you can experience the greatest moments in the history of Belgian creativity in such diverse fields as art, music, painting, sports or comic strips in the company of famous Belgians.

Visits
No tickets sold after 5pm.
Duration of the visit: around 1 hour 30 minutes.
Guided tours available in French, Dutch, German and English.

Boat crossing
Individuals: only on Sundays from May to September.
Departures: 11:30am and 3:15pm (downstream) - 1:30pm and 4:30pm (upstream)
Groups: Wednesday to Sunday from March to October (no trips on the Sundays in March or Easter Sunday).
Departures: 11:30am (downstream) and 1:30pm and 4:30pm (upstream).
