This Napoleon themed museum recalls Napoleon's final victory, before the famous battle of Waterloo, in an authentic 18th century setting.
It is located at the very heart of the Ligny battlefield in the province of Namur, 20 minutes from Charleroi and 25 minutes from Namur.
The museum, housed in an old farm, has served as hospital after the battle, and has maintained its old character.
Your visit
You will admire, mostly on the ground floor, a presentation of the armies that took part in the battle on 16 June 1815 and a hall entirely dedicated to the village of Ligny during that period before moving up to the first floor to discover and relive the day of the battle.
Old photographs, engravings, dioramas, mannequins, period documents but also collections of weapons, objects and maps. This whole little world works together in perfect symbiosis and will delight all visitors.
Aside from its museum, the venue offers walks, through the battlefield.
Also worth noting are the historical activities running during the Napoleon Days on the weekend of the first Sunday in June.
