Discover the creations and concepts of Yves Saint Laurent, who profoundly changed the world of women's fashion. In Brussels from 30/01 to 12/05/13.

Presented for the first time, this exhibition showcases the visionary genius of this brilliant designer who understood and accompanied modern women from the second half of the 20th century.

Discover creations that are lent specially for the occasion and archives from te Pierre Bergé - yves Saint Laurent Foundation.

The exhibition unveils the fashion designer who, in the 60's and 70's, rewrote the rules of contemporary fashion for women.

Some 100 pieces, more than 80 of which have never been exhibited, enable us to discover the man who sensed the social changes about to hit at that time.

Saint Laurent was a great supporter of the emancipation of women. At a young age, he had already created his world of fashion for the modern woman.

The 'Paper Dolls' and their wardrobe which he created as a teenager are one of the revelations of the exhibition.

He was the first to create the woman's trouser suit, tuxedo suit, pea coat... all were seen as exclusively male clothing items and he changed them, feminising them and, therefore, empowering the women in the process.

Saint Laurent challenged convention in the exclusive haute couture domain of fashion as well as in ready to wear. He gave women a wider and more modern range of clothing. His work helped to emancipated the modern woman who worked, travelled and confirmed her place in society.

A richly illustrated information booklet has been put together for this exhibition.

'Yves Saint Laurent the Visionary' is a unique opportunity to contemplate these pieces which, usually, are preciously guarded in the conservation spaces of the Pierre Bergé - Yves Saint Laurent Foundation.

It's an exhibition not to be missed!
