Discover the beers and cheeses of Maredsous at the Saint-Joseph Visitor's Centre, where the abbey's monks welcome you for a pleasant and delicious moment.
The abbey of Maredsous, one of the most beautiful abbeys in Belgium, is located in the province of Namur, about 25km from the city of Namur, capital of Wallonia, and 20km from Dinant.
Founded in 1872 by Benedictine monks in a neo-Gothic style, this monastery offers pilgrims and tourists a beautiful architectural ensemble. At the Saint-Joseph Visitor's Centre a cafeteria, a souvenir shop and a free playground for children invite you and your family to spend a wonderful day around Maredsous Abbey's gastronomic produce.
Maredsous Abbey offers guided tours in French and Dutch. Your guide will take you on a tour of the abbey, the cemetery, the gardens, the ceramics workshops and the cheese factory (visit of the exterior).
After your guided tour (with or without a tasting session) or walk in the Molignée valley, you can make the most of the venue and meet the monks and discover their way of life.
