The Abbey of Floreffe which was founded by St Norbert in 1121 towers over the valley of the river Sambre. The various buildings are grouped around the formal Courtyard and date from between the 12th and 18th centuries. The abbey church which is 100 m long contains some magnificent baroque choir stalls. The mediaeval outbuildings of the abbey are the hosts to a fascinating museum. The mill and brewery, which date from 1250 and form the oldest industrial building in the Province of Namur, will open their doors to you so that you may taste the various products made in the Abbey. There is also a craft shop which will introduce you to the various local handicrafts. Monastic order: Premonstratensian. Rooms with different dimensions for rent for receptions, meetings, etc.
