The belfry in Thuin, located on the Place Albert Ier, is the remaining tower of a church that was destructed in 1811 in order to create space for the square. The construction of this tower -which from the beginning served as a belfry- was decided by the town and the chapter in 1639. It was the capitular as well as the communal tower of the Collegiate church Saint-Théodard. The belfry belongs to the Unesco World Heritage. Trilingual panels, a film, cameras, ... relate to you the history of Thuin and its belfry. To help you during your ascent, an audio guide will explain to you the mechanism of the clock, the bells, the carillon... At the top, 4 niches unveil an unrestricted view on the valleys.

Closed on 11/11, 24/12, 25/12, 31/12 and 01/01.
During the Belgian and Dutch school holidays and on public holidays, open from Tuesday through Sunday: from 11 am to 6 pm (02/11 to 31/03) and from 11 am to 6 pm (01/04 to 31/10).
Groups: the belfry is open all year round by appointment.
There is also a humorous and interactive side to your visit: 4 screens offer you the possibility to visualise the viewpoints filmed by cameras installed at the summit. With a joystick, you can pilot them and zoom in on strategic and historical sites of the region.
