Mons counts numerous listed sites: The Belfry , the Mons Town Hall or the Treasury of the St-Waudru's Collegiate Church. A few kilometres outside the city centre, you should definitely visit the superbly restored Grand-Hornu Industrial Mining Complex. It houses the MAC's - Museum of Contemporary Art of the French-speaking Community  that organises remarkable temporary exhibitions, shrewdly put together by its famous director, Laurent Busine.

Every month of June, Mons and its Grande Place are the main stage of a remarkable folkloric event that is listed as UNESCO Intangible Heritage: the St Waudru Procession: Doudou Tunes, Procession of the Golden Carriage and Battle of the Lumeçon. No Montois in his right mind would ever want to miss it.
