The Aubechies Archeosite takes you on a journey 5,000 years back into our past.
It's like an open-air museum, showing you the lives of successive populations of these regions through re-creations based on the findings from numerous archaeological digs.
Prehistory is illustrated by settlements from the Neolithic period to the second Iron Age, via the Bronze Age. And a Gallic house will introduce you to the Gallo-Roman period, represented by a temple, a necropolis, a villa and a barge (flat-bottomed boat).
From mid-April to mid-October, every Sunday, the site comes alive with artisan activities.
Closed every year between Christmas and New Year.
Group tours, by reservation, in French, Dutch and English available all year round.
Ad hoc tours (3 times a day) are available for family groups of 5 people or more. You will be shown around the site in an hour (tour in French only).
These tours are available on Sundays and public holidays between mid-April and mid-October, and every day in July and August.
Site accessible to people with reduced mobility.
