The Bois-du-Luc, a mining site listed as exceptional Walloon heritage, invites you to discover the work and daily life of a miner and his family. At the end of the 19th century, the Société des Charbonnages du Bois-du-Luc (created in 1685) founded the Saint-Emmanuel pit. Nearby it created a unique village model. At the village, which was under the supervision of the Director, the workers could eat (grocery, butcher, mill-brewery), get treatment (home, hospital), relax (hall, park and kiosk, leisure activities), learn (schools, library) and pray (Saint-Barbe church).
Bois-du-Luc is a key location on the European Route of Industrial Heritage.
