In Belgium, the means of transport, both private and public, are very developed. We have a high quality network of roads, airways and waterways.

By car

The speed is limited to:

- 120 km/h sur autoroute
- 90 km/h on 4 lane roads
- 50 km/h in the built-up area (and thus in Brussels)
You should pay particular attention to the rule of giving way to traffic coming from the right.
Wearing a seatbelt is obligatory in the front and in the back of the car.

There are nine park & ride car parks Parkings de Dissuasion à Bruxelles at the entries of Brussels. They allow you to take public transport to move around at your ease in the Brussels. Moreover, the 19 towns also have Interparking car parks.

By airplane

The airport of Brussels-National is located in Zaventem, at 12 kilometers from the city centre, on the northern outskirts of Brussels.
You can leave for hundreds of destinations, close by (France, the Netherlands, England…) or further away! On the website of the Airport of Brussels National, (Brussels Airport), you can find info on the service of the airport, and on all flights leaving from Brussels.

There is a second airport in Charleroi, known as Brussels South Charleroi Airport. It is located at 46 km of Brussels (trains, busses or taxis can take you there) and offers 26 European destinations, 8 of which are capital cities. New destinations from the airport: Malaga, Valencia, Nîmes, Faro, Salzburg, Madrid, Marseille, Grenoble, Turin, Ljubljana, Bucharest and Casablanca.
Directly linked to the city by more than 20 daily shuttles. The airport offers large range of services.
The construction of the New Terminal with a capacity of 3 million passengers, a car park with 5000 spots and the 10 tracks means new growth for the Charleroi airport.

A third Aéroport de Bierset - Liège is located in Bierset in the province of Liège.

By bus/coach

The Eurolines coach company offers a wide range of coach journeys from around a hundred European cities to Brussels.
Cars Eurolines

The Walloon and Flemish bus companies also provide bus services (public transport) to the capital. For the De Lijn bus services, you can consult the site De Lijn, select the paragraph ‘Reisinformatie’ (travel information), then the option ‘Reiswegplanner’ (route planner) and indicate your towns of departure and arrival.
Please consult the site Société Régionale Wallonne for the buses of the TEC Walloon network.

By train

Belgium has the most dense railway network in the European Union. There are 28 stations in the Brussels-Capital Region, but the three largest, which are linked to virtually all European destinations, are:
- Brussels-Nord, which caters mainly for commuter traffic
- Bruxelles-Central, située non loin de la Grand-Place, et par conséquent le choix idéal pour les touristes souhaitant visiter le centre ville
- Brussels-Midi, recently renovated, which is the station for international networks such as Thalys, Eurostar and the HST.
Transport Ferroviaire SNCB

Moreover, there is a fast and direct connection by Thalys or Eurostar between Brussels and the following cities:
Brussels – Paris: 1h25 by Thalys, every hour.
Brussels – Amsterdam: 6 times a day by Thalys.
Brussels – London: 2h20 2h20 by Eurostar, up to 9 times a
day.
Brussels – Liège – Aachen: 6 times a day by Thalys.
