Northern exuberance

The city of Liège is bustling and on the move all day and night. Its wealthy historical past does not mean it is tied down by heavy traditions. Its historical heritage has undergone successful renovations that easily compare with hyper contemporary constructions such as the new LIÈGE-GUILLEMINS TRAIN STATION, designed by the famous architect Santiago Calatrava.

All year round there are numerous folkloric activities, especially in the "Outre-Meuse" neighbourhood. It was one of the favourite neighbourhoods of local kid Georges Simenon. Follow his footsteps across the city.

Laze about on Sundays along the Meuse and enjoy the LA BATTE MARKET. At night, meet up with some jovial locals in a bar or a typical café.

There are countless ways (on foot, by bike, by boat, by tourist train) to explore the city.
